NANA
General Information
The NANA anime is based off the hit manga by Ai Yazawa. It is a Josei series and has themes of love-romance, music, and drama. The first season of the anime originally ran from April 5, 2006 to March 27, 2007 and was 47 episodes in length. Contrary to popular belief, the anime will have a second season, planned to air after the manga is completed in Japan. The reason behind this was so they would avoid fillers in the anime that are not based off the manga itself.
The story follows two young woman, totally different, but both by the name of Nana. Nana Osaki is a punk singer who hopes to debut and become a hit with her band. Nana Komatsu is a young woman who cares nothing but for love and wishes to be showered in affection. A chance encounter on a train heading to Tokyo brings these two ladies together.
